sally-smithSally was ordained into the Church of England in 2009, after a career in health and social care.   Sally is married to Roy, and they have 6 adult children, 4 of whom are adopted, and they are also foster carers, offering a home to unaccompanied asylum seeking young people. Sally is a vicar at St Mark’s Church in Shelton, Stoke on Trent. She is also the founder and Chief Executive of Sanctus, a social enterprise supporting asylum seekers and refugees, based at St Mark’s Church. Sally is the Safeguarding Officer for Vulnerable Adults for the Lichfield Diocese. Precis of talk The Wealth of the Nations It takes a particular sort of ’seeing’ to see what the prophets can see, and a particular sort of courage to act positively in response. Sally will share her experience of working with asylum seekers and refugees in Stoke, and helping us to see them through the words of the prophet Isaiah, who offers us ancient wisdom which can transform our city.
